Brisbane Magic Futsal Join forces With FC Barcelona Supporters Club Australasia

Brisbane Magic Futsal and FC Barcelona Supporters Club Australasia have joined forces to create an exciting opportunity for players of our Futsal Club.Under the arrangement, Brisbane Magic Futsal and FC Barcelona will play matches against each other annually with players being selected to travel overseas to represent our club.

The development tours will see players visit the headquarters of FC Barcelona plus other exciting destinations in Europe and Asia. The tours will comprise of training with FC Barcelona, one of Europe’s top Futsal clubs, together with several matches against quality opposition.

Also under the agreement, FC Barcelona Supporters Club Australasia President Dennis Church, will become the Coaching Director of Brisbane Magic Futsal enabling our club to establish a Centre of Excellence program that will provide players the opportunity of developing their Futsal skills to become quality Futsal players and one day representing the National Futsal Team (Futsalroos) at a FIFA World Championship.

Dennis Church was pleased with the agreement, “FC Barcelona Supporters Club Australasia has team’s that compete in the NSW Futsal Super League competitions. With Brisbane Magic Futsal entering the Quensland Futsal Premier League, it was only matter of time before the two clubs agreed to the same development path. It’s a win-win for all parties.

“We are a community based club, giving every player an opportunity to succeed in Futsal.

"Brisbane Magic Futsal adopts the same philosophy, Church added. The first of the matches between the two clubs will take place in October 2009 at a neutral venue. FC Barcelona Supporters Club Australasia is based in Sydney, with clubs in Sydney, Wollongong and Northern NSW.
