To provide the training and educational (Elite Academy players only) opportunities for all Football and Futsal players to enable them to develop their skills, individual talents and abilities as players, coaches and referees by providing a total holistic approach with our development programs.
We will achieve this by following the player development pathway set out by the Football Federation Australia and Football Queensland. By having elite Academy and skills and drills players progress and encourage to undertake Football Federation of Australia coaching and referee courses and provide opportunities for players to experience a variety of cultures through completion training both via interstate and international excursions. We will provide our players with a solid foundation for the future and growth which will benefit Football and Futsal in all areas including coaching and referring and player development.
The Academy philosophy is founded on holistic approach, recognising that improving a player’s technical development must go hand in hand with the advancement of each player’s maturity as well as their emotional and psychological well-being. our programmes will focus on 4 key target areas being Motor skills, Cognitive skills and Personal skills and Social skills.
This deals with each player’s technical and tactical ability focusing on elements such as kicking, dribbling, passing, heading and tackling. Speed, strength, endurance and flexibility are vital elements of these sessions.
This aims to develop qualities such as intuition, memory, concentration, and decision making. Strategies for self expression and creativity and imagination underpin this aspect of our training.
This helps player’s foster techniques for having control over their emotions or for regaining self control when lost. Motivation, self-esteem and a desire to be autonomous will increase in these sessions.
This helps players learn how to work together as a group and team. Respect for the rules and acceptance of the decisions of others will also be emphasised. Collaboration is a core part of these sessions.
